This Geometric bag collection was apart of my senior thesis project. I was interested in geometric forms (watching a lot of Buckminster Fuller). I noticed that in fashion, geometric forms are not frequently used. I noticed more specifically that there are little to no geometric bags. I then digitally designed a geometric form and laser cut it in cardboard.
One of the first exercises was to see the different ways of opening the geometric form. I kept trying different openings until i discovered something that was most interesting. I settled the the clam shell style opening form.
I then made the form to the backpack and purse size. I have made this form with different materials: corrugated plastic, cardboard, canvas, hemp, etc.
I am actively working on the project to bring to market. I am currently exploring different sustainable materials and processes to fabricate this bag collection.
